Terms: $750/month - average, depending on hours worked (prefer hourly rate of $30 or less, higher hourly rate considered contingent on experience)
Qualifications

Experience in Windows Server maintenance and updates - Active Directory, Virtual Servers, RAID Arrays

Experience with creating and restoring backups of Windows Virtual Servers

Experience with networking, firewalls and internal and external network security

Experience with hardware installation and upgrades

Knowledge of IT best practices, security trends, network mapping and documentation

Ability to train and supervise volunteers.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.

Ability to work well under pressure and without direct supervision.

Ability to work with a wide variety of people in a multicultural, cooperative, progressive organization.

Ability to work flexible hours as necessary, and be available in case of IT emergency.

Ability to think outside the box of traditional IT infrastructure, to meet the unique needs of a radio broadcasting enterprise

Preferred skills: Experience with IT in a broadcast environment, audio or video
Duties to cover:
-
Oversee volunteer team that maintains KBOO’s local area network, consisting of approximately 35 Windows Workstations (Windows 7)

Maintain security of network, including firewall, traffic/IP monitoring, and mitigation of internal and external breaches.

Carry out regular updates of onsite Windows 2012 Servers (Active Directory with RAID Array and Virtual Servers).

Maintain backups of onsite Windows Servers, including test restores. KBOO currently uses Windows Server backup for on-site backup, and Crashplan for cloud backup.

Provide second-tier helpdesk support for Staff and Volunteers (1st tier provided by tech operating team staff and volunteers)

Install OS updates on Windows Servers (usually about once per month) and firmware updates on networking hardware as needed.

Document all adds/moves/changes to KBOO’s local and wide area networks.

Assist KBOO with planning for future IT upgrades, obtaining software and licenses (discounted through TechSoup) and upgrading existing equipment and software.
Working Conditions
KBOO is a community radio station with over 500 volunteers, and 24 hours a day of broadcasting. The atmosphere is hectic and stimulating. The ability to work in this kind of environment is essential.
