For over twenty years Columbia Riverkeeper has been a major voice in protecting the mighty Columbia River. In that time Riverkeeper has worked on many fronts to enforce environmental laws to stop illegal pollution, protect salmon habitat, and challenge harmful fossil fuel terminals. Their legal work has made a significant difference, but much of the the change they have inspired comes from helping communities organize and stand together for something they believe in.
This summer Columbia Riverkeeper will change leadership as longtime Executive Director Brett VandenHeuvel departs and current Legal and Program Director Lauren Goldberg takes over the helm. On this episode of Locus Focus we talk with Lauren about the organization's plans to continue to successfully protect, restore, and care for our Columbia River.
