Located at the southern end of Europe, close to Africa and not far from Eastern Europe, and with so many distinct regional traditions, Italy has a rich musical heritage to draw from. Since the birth of jazz, the folk revival, the rock revolution and all the other genres that have been born since, Italian musicians, like their counterparts around the world, have increasingly blended styles and merged traditional with modern forms.
