His current ensemble, The Delines, have been described as "a southern country soul band whose music is a classy low-key cinematic opus of blue-collar melancholy". His songs are stories about characters living on the margins, dented, but not broken, inhabiting a world that would rather ignore them than embrace them. His words shine a light on the dark corners of the American soul.
