Settle down on a warm evening with of a couple of crime dramas from the golden age of radio. First, Frank Lovejoy stars as Randy Stone reporter for the Chicago Star, in the series Night Beat from 1950. While waundering through a riverside carnaval Randy gets caught up in a strange case invovling Mentalo The Mental Marvel. Followed by Jack Webb as jazz musician Pete Kelly, makin' the scene in the Kansas City of the Prohibition Era of the mid 1920's in the series Pete Kelly's Blues. Pete finds out that his old mentor, Gus Truheux who taught Pete how to play the cornet, is wrapped up in a gangland killing. The cops are camped out in the club Pete performs at waiting for Gus to hit up Pete for bus fare.
