The third Monday in February is typically celebrated as President's Day in the United States. But it marked a different occasion for the hundreds assembled outside Portland City Hall on Monday afternoon.
The crowd instead gathered for a "Not My President's Day" rally and march, sporting homemade signs aimed at President Donald Trump, billionaire Elon Musk and the Department of Governmental Efficiency, or DOGE.
Some signs read "No Kings, No Fascists," "We did not vote for Elon Musk," and "Get your sticky fingers off our democracy."
