The book is about Palestine and two years of genocidal war in Gaza. But what El Akkad is really writing about is the profound moral failure of Western liberalism and its complicity with the commission of unconscionable crimes in service to empire. El Akkad is also featured in the film SUMUD: A Doctor’s Report on Genocide and Survival in Gaza.
