This week on The Melting Pot we touch base with a Benefit that has been going on for a decade called "COVERS and BLANKETS 10" Well hear from the founder Christian Parkinson about its inception, evolution and what you can do now and throughout the year. COVERS and BLANKETS is a FamILY friendly "sign up and sing" musical adventure donation drive. Benefiting the Janus Youth Program of Portland, this is our Tenth year of coming together with the sprit of musical community service.
Description
COVERS and BLANKETS is Something like a talent show and a blanket drive all rolled up into to WON. You are welcome to perform a Cover song, spectate or volunteer,
just check us out on FaceBook... search COVERS and BLANKETS.
*We will gladly be accepting your donations of gently used Blankets, clothing, hats, scarves, gloves, sleeping bags, rain gear and baby stuff
and new toiletries to be donated to local homeless and at risk youth, (think teenage moms and run away kids)
The doors will open at 7pm and its is an all ages until 9pm. We encourage kids and family groups to get up on stage
and participate up until 9pm after that... its gonna be a grown ups party with a full bar. i.d required, Come early if you have kids. Its only $5 bucks with a donation a $10 without.
