Chuck Israels Guests; Celebration of a Musical Life: Sonny Russo
Chuck Israels will be my guest at 2 p.m. for a musical showcase
of both his years as bassist with the Bill Evans Trio,
and his present Chuck Israels Jazz Orchestra.
A memorial to the rich life of trombonist Sonny Russo will follow
with a partial re-broadcast of Sonny's 83rd birthday celebration
first broadcast on KBOO in March 2012. Sonny's hand-picked music
will illustrate why Sonny's favorite expression was "It's a bone world!".
