Even as Hurricane Michael promises to inundate the eastern seaboard, residents in parts of North Carolina continue to struggle with the aftermath of Hurricane Florence last month.
KBOO reporter Yasemin Cobanoglu spoke yesterday with Vanessa Bolin, a community organizer and indigenous artist and activist who is currently in Lumberton, a city of 21,000 people in Robeson County, North Carolina, with the group Mutual Aid Disaster Relief.
