On this episode of the Gap, Tammy and Althea discuss 'Striketober' - with significant strikes taking place, with 10k John Deere workers on strike, 1,400 Kelloggs workers on strike and IATSE workers and Kaiser workers in Oregon and California threatening to next week. This is a very interesting time, especially for those workers who have been deemed "essential" over the past 19 months of the pandemic. Companies have made record profits, and yet still try to squeeze their workforce dry and degrade their working conditions. See the particular tweet here that really incapuslated it for us.
Then, we ask our community question: what do you want to go back to from the before times, and what is a pandemic practice or trend that you want to carry forward? Obviously there has been a lot lost, and a major shift to 'normalcy' but there are some lessons we can carry forward.
