JACARANDA

Jacaranda will be performing live in the studio and we will have a chance to touch base with the mind that helped create "PLAYGROUND" the finest FREE Anual Outdoor Electronic Parties in the NorthWest. Come by Sunday the 7.10.2011 CATHEDRAL PARK in ST. JOHNS & to see what its all about and tune in 8-10pm for the show. Listen in for JACARANDA around 9pm on 90.7fm in Portland Or, www.kboo.fm/listen

Jacaranda comes from the old school of vinyl collectors and still spins his sets on 2 Technics Turntables. His music collection is the result of years of crate digging and scouring the reaches of the increasingly rare record shops around the world. The result is a completely unique tapestry of musical gems and select cuts that span genres of Dub, Trip-Hop, Balearic, Cosmic Disco, Re-edits, Tech-Funk, and Deep House and tends to always be infused with a certain uplifting melodic quality.

WHY?
Because we love good beats, sunshine, bare feet, good times, community vibes and we like to do it for free! So please come join us and enjoy the whole day. Bring a picnic, water, frisbees, hula hoops, games, art supplies, the kids, and sunscreen

PLEASE NOTE: There is no alcohol allowed at Cathedral Park. Blatant, open use of alcohol reflects poorly on our organization and could jeopardize our ability to get permits in the future. There are bars nearby if you want to do some drinking, but please don't have it out in the park. Thanks!

Playground was born in 2007 with a vision to provide free, outdoor, daytime park parties in Portland City Parks as an alternative to the normally club-centric environment of dance music. The event is truly a community effort, as everyone involved provides their time and talent without charge. The funding necessary for permits, insurance, porta-potties, etc. come in a large part from donations through our website. The gathering is intended to be a family-friendly celebration of summer with a lineup of talented local DJ's and producers - not trucked in headliners.
