Black Orpheus Original Sound Track and Big Train by Lincoln Center Orchestra
Music from the 1959 film Black Orpheus is familiar to most
from American pop interpretations,
but rarely is the entire sound track music played on radio.
Today is that day. It will be followed by the complete 1999 work,
by the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Big Train -
a gigantic effort that will make you feel you're riding the rails.
It is presented as a memorial tribute to Stanley Crouch,
a co-founder of that Orchestra with trumpeter Wynton Marsalis,
who continues to lead that Orchestra to this day.
